A Short History of Freeform in Spokane
In 1991, Duane and Ginny Wilson relocated to Spokane and founded Contract Resource Group. Duane, a manager for the world’s largest furniture manufacturer, and Ginny, a designer for the largest US design firm, decided they would not find fulfillment in dedicating their lives to career advancement and achievement. Having lived in some of the largest US cities, they chose Spokane for its family-focused community and outdoor recreation options to raise their daughter and set down roots. They envisioned a lifestyle business that allowed them to use their skills and experience to serve community businesses. The founding principles of Contract Resource Group reflect the founder’s passion of putting people first, responsiveness, and ethical practices.
In 2018, the same principles led Fernando Jauretche and his family to settle in Spokane and take over the business. Fernando had worked with CRG during his tenure as regional manager for a large commercial manufacturer and sought to continue the Wilsons’ legacy of community involvement and quality service. With over 20 years of industry experience and an eye toward the future, Fernando rebranded to Freeform in 2019 and transformed the company into a top innovative, design-driven commercial furniture dealership.
In 2022, Freeform merged with Business Interiors of Idaho (BII) to create the intermountain northwest region’s largest commercial furniture company. We’re still the same team that you’ve worked with and grown to know and love. We’re a little bigger, a little better dressed, and, most importantly, constantly looking for ways to improve and to better serve our communities and customers. We are incredibly excited to continue creating culture, building community, and enriching lives.
